WWI Brecknockshire territorial battalion of South Wales cap badge, Ca.1908-1922
The Brecknockshire Battalion was Formed in 1908 formally the 1st volunteers.
In 1914 a 2/ 1st battalion was formed it was joined by 68th (2nd Welsh) division in 1915.
In 1916 the regiment was amalgamated with 2/7 Royal Welsh Fusiliers.
In 1915 the 3/1st Brecknockshire battalion was formed which became 1st battalion ( Reserve ) in 1916 in 1917 it amalgamated with 1st ( reserve ) Battalion Monmouthshire.
Reformed In 1939 The Brecknockshire battalion transferred to The Royal Artillery in 1947
