Ca.1930's Yardley of London loose powder compact with powder.

The picture to the front is a little damaged with Yardley design and mark to the back. The case is made in brass and the mirror is in good order.

The compact still has loose powder in it with the cover and puff.

In 1913 Yardley adopted the Francis Wheatley’s painting from his “Cries of London” (1795) series as their company logo. The original painting depicts a basket containing primroses. Yardley, of course, replaced these with sheaths of lavender. which is what you see to the front of the compact.
