The Royal Lincolnshire regiment was a line infantry unit of the British Army.

The Regiment was formed in 1685 as the Earl of Bath's Regiment by John Granville to help King James II to suppress a rebellion.

Named the 10th North  Lincoln Regiment of foot.

On being formed they were issued blue coats not the usual red ones and for many years they were the only line regiment to wear them.

In 1881 it was re-named Lincolnshire Regiment

After the second World War they re-formed and changed their name to The Royal Lincolnshire Regiment.
